St. Joseph’s Community Nursing Unit – Ennis
D. Fallon Consulting Engineers (DFCE) are providing extensive multi-disciplinary services to this proposed Community Nursing Unit development in Ennis, Co. Clare.
St. Joseph’s is a proposed 100-bed Community Nursing Unit is to be based in the heart of Ennis town to serve the people of Co. Clare and surrounds.
Works will involve a proposed two storey 100 bed Community Nursing Unit and a single storey service building with ancillary site works, parking, planted courtyards, landscaping, compound and drainage works.
This project will deliver a new build facility to meet the standards of HIQA National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland and to comply with the Health Act 2007 with regard to long stay residents, to ensure continuity of service provision and improved patient care.

Our Delivery
DFCE are providing full Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy services on this project in accordance with HSE scope of services. Tasks to date included civil & structural scheme designs, statutory consultations with the Local Authority and Irish Water, co-ordination of ground investigations, drainage surveys, and site information retrieval from various third-parties.
DFCE tasks in this project included:
- Preparation of preliminary civil & structural scheme and site layout drawings for the HSE project approval phases
- Co-ordination of third-party surveys, including ground investigation, topographical and drainage surveys
